Masterclass: AudioBooks for Authors with Laurence Bouvard

About this event:

An introductory level workshop aimed at all writers and authors who wish to learn more about audiobooks.

With audiobooks the fastest growing sector of the publishing industry, authors must have to consider an audio version of their work – but few are aware of the process of creating one, and the benefits or challenges of doing so.

Through discussion, examples and practical exercises, this workshop will examine audiobooks from the performer/listener’s points of view and how authors can best serve the process. Participants are asked to bring in two copies of one or two pages of their own work, which they will use in some of the exercises.

Authors will come away with a clearer understanding of the audiobook process, such as the skills required and the challenges involved, empowering them to make more informed decisions when publishing the audio version of their book.
