{Prompts at Clean Prose}

Each term, we hold a number of events, workshops and masterclasses that explore a variety of topics and themes. Throughout the year guest speakers at all our events will provide a prompt for our short fiction competition.

Writers will be given a deadline to produce a piece of short fiction around this prompt and submit it to Clean Prose.

 Our panel will choose the winners, who will each receive a 5xDay Pass to Clean Prose and a free ticket to another event at Clean Prose.

{No Prompt? No Problem}
We love a good prompt, but we know they’re not for everyone. If you have a story that doesn’t follow one of the prompts you can still submit it to the Clean Prose UnPrompted Short Fiction Competition, which will be running parallel to Prompts at Clean Prose

This competition follows all the same rules and guidelines as Prompts, but the competition runs all year. The winners of Prompts at Clean Prose are eligible for consideration for this prize.

{The Prizes}

Prompts at Clean Prose winners will each receive a 5xDay Pass and a free ticket to another event at Clean Prose. Their stories will also be entered into the UnPrompted Short Fiction competition, which includes a grand prize of a year’s Unlimited Membership to Clean Prose. Find out more on our UnPrompted at Clean Prose page.

The winners of the Prompts competitions will be announced at our annual Christmas party in December. All of the winners and some highly commended writers will be included in The Clean Prose Short Fiction Anthology 2020, to be published on our website.
